Cyndie’s Poem
You and I met on a night in the Past,
Your face I saw through a pane of glass,
Your voice I heard whispering as we shared a dream…
‘Not long ago, but longer it does seem.
Brought together by Fate and by the winds that mourn,
Your faith and your hopes… your
truths and beliefs…
Your strength far greater than mine will ever be,
In a way, my gentle lady friend, you are a lot like me
Resolute in your wants, filled with the Hope you seek,
Your face light by a candle that reflects on your cheek.
I stared at you for countless hours before your face disappeared,
Who is it that you see when you look into the mirror?
Do you see the softer side of Love staring back and into you?
Or is it the passionate princess who taunts and tempts the chosen few?
Perhaps it’s the little lost girl who dwells from within?
You know of her Cyndie, she’s been with you all along…
You’ve heard her crying in the night, singing the saddest of painful songs
Who was it that was with me those many nights when we became as one?
Was it you, the same lady who arose with me at dawn?
Your hair being brushed by the hands of a flame…
When you opened your eyes, did you hear me calling out your name?
Our many months passed, our time became lost.
I’ve cried on your shoulder while my world became tossed.
You’ve cursed and you’ve encouraged, you’ve smiled and you were there,
During all those dark moments when I was forbidden to breathe air
My tears wet your pillow and your hair has touched my face
Many nights I lie awake just entranced by your grace
You inspire me in a silence and you yet you know not my true feelings of you
‘For how can I say this… without sounding the fool
Calm, peace, contentment are all words to be heard and made known
I do have sadness; I have not a home
Your aches match mine and in your unspoken desperate plea,
I gaze into your eyes that are now only a mere memory
My voice shakes as I call you, my heart beats and intrudes
I can feel it all beginning again, different and yet the same, once more,
renewed
Cannot you feel the same things as I do my gentle quiet Lady?
Where do we both stand upon this Trail of Discovery?
Are the worlds that we both live in capable of bringing desire?
Or is it only a frozen moment that will be melted by the fires?
If I looked into you eyes and you peered into mine…
I often wonder Cyndie,
what would we find?
Written for Cyndie, as I
sit in silence, thinking of her
